Many false preachers and teachers have mentioned dates for Jesus' return. All to the same wrong conclusion.

Many false preachers and teachers have mentioned dates for Jesus’ return. All to the same wrong conclusion. So, what makes me think I can shed light on the situation? Well, it’s only by God’s grace and His Word that I came to the foot of the cross, so wouldn’t those same scriptures leave something to look forward to? I can hear the oohs and aahs when I say that, right?
First, let me repeat the words of Jesus himself, “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only” (Matthew 24:36, NJKV).
So, unless I am missing something, it seems simple: NO MAN KNOWS! But let’s see if the God who is so loving and merciful to you and me would give clues to prepare us.
Understand your God is a God of truth (John 14:6). In Christ’s glorious presence on this earth, there were over 350 fulfilled prophecies (1). Psalm 40:7 (KJV) says, “Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is

written of me.” So, from front to back, the Bible is about Christ. Thus, we often say the Bible is history (HIS-STORY). So why hasn’t he returned yet?
First, 2 Peter 3: 9 (NIV) says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” We should all be jumping for joy that Christ is patient and wants every man to be with him in glory! As mentioned, his timing is not ours, so the only promise before his return is … “this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come (Matt 24:14, KLV).”
Secondly, if you believe in his truth, the Word (Christ) tells us certain things must happen before his return. Remember, the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy (Rev 19:10). So keeping that in mind, Christ answered the disciples’ question about his return in Matthew 24:7-8 (NIV), “Nation will rise against Nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Let’s focus on the latter, the beginning of birth pains.
Think about a woman’s delivery of a child. As she approaches the time of delivery, the pains become more intense and come faster. Though God has shown us many things beyond our imagination, many things are beyond our comprehension. The Bible explains in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NLT), “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” Amen!
In creating things beyond the understanding of man, God says in Isaiah 45:7 (KJV), “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.” Everything, I
“I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.”
Isaiah 45: 7, KJV
mean everything, is for God’s glory. Remember Job and what God allowed Satan to do to him. Why, for His glory and your knowledge (Bible). So, in the end, by overcoming evil with His love, our Lord Jesus will show us also His glory. Sin entered the world through Adam and Eve (Genesis 3), but to show you and me there is only one true and living God, he allowed that sin to cover the earth. Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV) says, “The heart [of man] is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” I truly believe that man, left to himself, will destroy himself and the world. God’s word perfectly tells us, “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother” (Proverbs 29:15, NKJV).
Remember those birth pains? Ladies and gentlemen, understand before Christ returns, there is coming a time of great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be (Matthew 24:21, NKJV). Keep in mind Christ’s word is truth. And His truth tells me in Matthew 24:9-12 (KJV):
“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”
Believe me, I am not looking forward to what’s coming, but again, I hold on to Christ’s truth; if we endure in his arms, a brighter day is coming. Note, despite all these things, an overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
“Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39, NLT
Can I get an Amen? So I pray right now for you and your family that Christ shall cover you with His wings, for under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler (Psalm 91: 4). And we pray to everyone reading this post that His blood is over your door post for the time to come before HIS return.
